Who we are.

MQR is a student association at Maastricht University for people interested in quantitative research, development, and finance. We were founded in 2026 by students who wanted a place to do this work seriously, together.

What we're for

Learn together

Most of what's useful here isn't taught in a lecture hall. We build the sessions, workshops, and mentorship that fill the gap.

Build things that run

Ideas are cheap. We care about work that survives contact with data, backtested honestly, documented, and reviewed by peers.

Open the door to industry

We bring firms to campus and take members to their offices, so the path from student to practitioner is something you can actually see.

Anastasios Vlachmpeis

President

Anastasios is an undergraduate from Greece studying Data Science and AI. In his free time he enjoys playing ping-pong, poker, working out and gaming.

Daniel Skuczi

Treasurer, Technology & Operations

Daniel is a master's student from Hungary studying Artificial Intelligence. In his free time he enjoys sprinting with MSAV Uros, working out and spending time with friends.

Mike Westenberg

Media & Public Relations

Mike is a Master's student in Artificial Intelligence at Maastricht University, with a background in Business Engineering. In his free time he enjoys going to the gym, squash, game nights, dinners out, and traveling.

Taurius Zukauskas

Secretary, Events & Logistics

Taurius is an undergraduate from Lithuania, studying Data Science And AI. In his free time he enjoys boxing, poker, sports, working out and gaming.
